The talking drum, also tama, is a speaking drum from Africa
It has an hourglass shaped body (shaped like an egg timer) and is covered with two heads connected with leather strings
The drum is clamped under the arm and played with a special curling stick
By tensing and releasing the upper arm the pitch can be changed
Through the different pitches, all the tonal languages â€‹â€‹of Ghana can be played on the drum (Twi, Hausa, Dagomba, etc.)
Shell made of one piece of mahogany wood
