What a cool little soundmaker

That earthy organic sound, rattling and intriguing rhythm it can give to your production.

It is supposedly one of the oldest 'instruments' for the human race, probably used as far back as the stone age in similar form. There are no preserved instruments of this sort from that age except bone pipes if I recall correctly. There are a few 'music archaeologists' delving into this fascinating field and this type of added rhythm to the dancing, stomping of feet and hands in dance is supposedly very ancient.

Even if the rubbery band that keeps it together would snap is easable fixable, it is not a complex thing.

Sound is a dark rattle as you would expect, and it sounds really organic; that is how I would describe it. Dark, not very pronounced.

Having a 'real' shaker of this sort is much preferred than using a sampling or some such; the variety of the sound is important and you will get it with this.

decent product for my use

I use this for drums, where i mainly put it on my hi hat, the effect is very subtle, not as much as i thought. It feels fragile but i guess it's the nature of the product. Overall happy with it.

Lovely, but take care of them

This is a great little instrument, which can be slipped onto the wrist or ankle. I've also seen people use them on djembe drums. They look and sound wonderful, and as an open mic performer in search of a soundscape for my a cappella singing, they are a great addition to my kit.
They are, however, a little fragile for this purpose — though, as another reviewer has pointed out, that is probably the nature of the product. I lost a couple of pangi seeds in transit from house to pub before I learnt this lesson! I now store and carry them in a make-up pouch so that they are protected.

Nice sounding percussion

Very nice sounding percussion which I bought to use in combination with cajon. It's very light and produces mellow sound when played by hands. A must have to produce some exotic acoustic sounds.
