Best Modern Roland Device

Packed full of features, great effects, easy to use for it's size.

Quick to sample and resample. It definitely has a 'vibe' about it that encourages use (coming from someone who really didn't like the 404mk2).

Highly recommended!

Great little sampler

I have used rack-type samplers from another Japanese sampler brand, and I still have one, but I really liked this pocket-sized sampler. It has many options, maybe even too many for its size, including granular effects and many others.

One of the things that really convinced me was the built-in microphone for immediate sampling, as I don't need a separate dedicated recorder to capture nature or ambient sounds. Of course, it doesn't have a very long recording time for recording sounds in the field, but what I also like is the possibility of recording at lower sample rates, such as 11 kHz, which is great for achieving those lo-fi sounds.

It would be great to also have the option to lower the bit depth, like on old 12-bit samplers, but there are some lo-fi effects that can help achieve this type of sound.

The only thing I would prefer is a metal casing, but perhaps that would make it too heavy and not as portable as this one, which is very lightweight.

Overall, it's a very good sampler that I really enjoy using.

Lots of sampler in a small package.

Compared to my very old SU10 and both volca samples (1&2) this is a very powerful piece of kit. The granular sampler section is almost worth the cost on its own.
