M-Audio BX4BT

I bought these speakers for the sole reason that they have the power on function on the frontside of one of the speakers. I don´t want to reach back behind each speaker to turn them on everytime I´m starting up. That and the fact that you can choose to have the powered speaker to your right or your left was a huge advantage. And soundwise there is nothing wrong with them.

BUT! The energy save function drives me insane! To the point were I now use two set of speakers on my desk. One Logitech 2.1 system connected to my headphone out on my Scarlet soundcard and on the mains out I have the M-Audio speakers. This allows me to go with Logitech for everyday use without having speakers that turn them selves off when the volume is to low. And I don´t have to endure missing the first 5 seconds of the Youtube video just because the BX4bt speakers are unwilling to start up.

The fact that you can not turn this "feature" off is another reason for high blood preassure. I hate these speakers for just that reason, but at the same time I love their sound and size and the other good things that I mentioned above. Buy them if you feel that you possess at great deal of patience and a tempered mind. If not, maby you should look elswhere.

I was looking for a cheap pair of speakers for dawless jams at home and I have zero regrets about buying BX4BT. They have surprisingly good low frequency response for the size and price and don't sound too muddy overall. Bluetooth is a nice addition for listening music without bothering about physically connecting to the sound source.
