Harley Benton PJ-4 HTR Deluxe Series

Dirt cheap, But even for the price it is "just" ok. Finish was very good for the price. However the neck was very difficult to adjust (felt like the nut was stripped), and not possible to get properly straight. Fretwork was not the best, but would have been fine with some adjustments, if it hadn't been for that they weren't properly seated and didn't even stay in place. The reason became even more apparent after re-fretting, and the new fret's also couldn't be mounted well enough (however better than the originals), which showed that the slots for the frets simply had been made too wide (could possibly be fixed with a 2'nd refretting with oversized tang and glue filler. Pickups are weak, but that would be expected for an instrument at this cost. I've swapped the electronics and replaced the pickups with toneriders (recommended). The replaced electronics was of ok quality, and could just as well have been kept.. So, as I already started with modiciations (and return isn't an option), the next step is either a new neck or the mentioned 2:nd refretting..
