Short version:
First guitar i received had some minor and unfortunately also some major issues. Returned it and got a replacement sent to me. New guitar had even less minor issues, and no major ones. It plays well and sounds great. I have the old version with the Wilkinson (ceramic?) pups so cant say anything about the new Roswell alnicos.
Beware the neck is substantial, not gibson 50s fat, but gibson 60s fat (i love it, just beware).
Long version:
First guitar had some minor issues I could probably fix myself (rust spots on the higher plain steel strings, hum that goes away when touching strings and/or other hardware).
Unfortunately there were also fret buzz on many places, most prominent on 2nd and 3rd lowest strings (A,D). I had to go as high as 0,5cm action (at 12th fret) to tame the worst rattle, and still there are some buzz left (on e.g 5th, 7th and 16th fret). This despite the neck relief were just where you would want it (straight with the slightest bow) so I'm guessing it were due to poor fret leveling, which here in sweden costs as much or more than the guitar itself. There are some minor issues I can probably fix myself (rust spots on the higher plain steel strings, hum that goes away when touching strings and/or other hardware).
I'm fully aware that it's a cheap guitar, but I had read/youtubed some good recent reviews and was hoping the HB would be somewhat on par with my 200€ (now closer to 300€) Epiphone SG-400. But in terms of playability the Epi were miles ahead of my first JA-60; soundwise they were equals, and in overall finish the HB even excelled.
The new guitar had some cracks in the lacquer down at the strap button (transportation), but overall good finish. Some minor fret buzz on only a couple of frets on mainly one string. Hoping to be able to sand/polish touch that away. Cant reach sweet-spot low action, but low enough. Feels good, sounds great. For the price I'm happy.
