I had the little brother L6 previously. This Max version is even better. Love the improvments! The L6 Max is a very good piece of equipment for capturing ideas without having to turn on the computer. I love how it will run on both batteries and USB and seamlessly switch between the power options by just plugging a cable in.
I highly recommend it.
So many smart functions and it is super easy to handle. Love the bounce overdub feature added to the max version. Works great as a soundcard as well.
* Wishes for improvement *
- be able to record and/or overdub individual tracks in stand alone
- be able to record the whole mixer to 2 tracks in the DAW without recording the DAW output (eg the daw output should go straight to monitor, and not to record via a track)
- I wish the L6 computer app would have a function to automatically export all tracks with the option to clear all non-recorded tracks and normalize the tracks that has recordings. Preferable set sample rate/bitrate for the export and also name the files (example ”Master - date recorded - My own naming of the file and info”, ”Track 01 - date recorded - My own naming of the file and info” etc. For a more compact export and backup management.
- Stereo sends (link send 1-2 and pan L-R)
- Keyboard shortcut for Create new project and initialize mixer settings (it can be done now from the menu but it takes so many clicks and I do it many times a day. Some button combination could be made to trigger this quickly!
