VegaTrem VT1 Special Standard Steel

The VT1 UltraTrem I have already used with much success on three other Stratocasters.
However, this is my second "VT1 Special" to install in one of my other MIM Stratocasters.
The hardware of the Stainless Steel looks very solid, well made and installation was easy with no modifications.
I also used the various YouTube videos available to see how others installed and experienced this system.
The VT1 Special, once installed, is simply amazing and I am convinced one of the best around.
The main difference between the VT1 Special (brass sustain block) and VT1 UltraTrem (stainless steel block) is the sustain block and price :-)
I like both the VT1 Special and VT1 UltraTrem, however I have not compared them on the same guitar, but both sound fine to my ears. While the UltraTrem is not cheap, the Special is much closer to other vibrato systems on the market. Both do the job perfectly and do not destroy the character and looks of the Stratocaster and stays in tune !!!
Honestly in my opinion worth every Euro spend whether you go for the VT1 Special or VT1 UltraTrem!
Warning: Just made sure to "unlock" the saddles before adjusting the height and intonation !
My only issue with this particular Stratocaster (Fender Vintera 70s Stratocaster - 2021) and the VT1 Special was the time it took to adjust the intonation and for the "g" string I am still not happy, while on my other MIM Stratocaster I had no problems at all.
In any case, definitely a recommendation for those who use the vibrato a lot as it does it all without any tuning issues !

Beau produit, facile à installer, bonne tenue d'accordage .
Pour ma part, je l'ai installé sur une strat Fender mexique de 2007, et là... petit problème. Les cordes touchaient les frettes, même avec les pontets réglés au plus haut. J'ai du redémonter l'ensemble, et placer une cale de 1 mm (fabrication maison) sous la platine de fixation.
Le fait d'avoir réhaussé le bloc, avec des pontets relativement haut, l'angle saillant du pontet de la corde mi-grave peut être, selon sa façon de jouer, gênant au contact de la paume de la main
Autre point négatif, la médiocre qualité des filetage des vis de blocage des pontets. Il faut bien détendre les cordes avant réglage pour ne pas risquer de forcer, et de foirer les pas de vis, ce qui prend un peu de temps pour bien régler le bloc

bisherige Std-Trems haben immer etwas "steifes", diese VegaTrem sind durch die Messerkanten-Lagerung deutlich weicher in der Bedienung - einfach super ! Durch die Messerkanten (links und rechts am Rand der Platte) gibt es scheinbar keine Friktion, die stören würde - das macht das Trem sehr stimmstabil (ist kein Floyd Rose, will ich aber auch gar nicht)
der Trem-Hebel hat kein Spiel (wird eingeschraubt über eine Mutter)
Montage ist idiotensicher, einfach altes Trem raus, die neue "Platte" mit vier Schrauben (statt 6) festmachen, der einzoge Nachteil hier könnte man sagen ist, dass - wenn alle Saiten weg sind, das Trem nur locker im Loch sitzt bzw. an den Federn hinten hängt (es sind verschiedene Federzugstärken dabei).
Aber insgesamt: super Trem, sehr stimmstabil - ich bin begeistert..
Mittlerweile habe ich mehrere Stratocaster mit diesem System ausgestattet - ich werde auch sukzessive alle anderen Tremolos umbauen auf dieses System
