Thomann RN10 Ratchet

This device gives off a high frequency and very loud rattling sound. I bet it can damage your ears if you are not too careful. I suggest damping it with some cloth taped on it. Also I find it a little too light to swirl it around to get even sound (this can also be remedied if you are a bit handy).

Is this a toy or professional instrument? Honestly I don't know but if you tweak it a bit you can use it as an ethnic percussion in Oldfield like compositions..
