I was after a shotgun mic, to focus more on the target I would record.

Its a good mic and it do work good.
The drawback is its not only made for target one audio source.
Its more a mic to record ambient sound in a room, as in one mode its also pickup sounds from behind.
If I did knew this I would not bought it.

If you want a cheap mic for ambient sounds, this is a very good mic.If you want a shotgun mic that only pick up a small area of sounds, then this is not what you want.
