Acoustic foam sold as bass traps is a sham. It only affects highs and some high mids, it does nothing for low mids and definitely nothing for bass. These are just nice looking high frequency absorbers, taking up valuable space in the corners where you need to place proper bass traps. If I had saved all the money I spent on cheap acoustic foam and bad wall mounting over the years, I'd have a couple of great broadband absorbers by now.

Save your money and get something like Hofa's bass tubes or EQ Acoustics' felt absorbers instead.
