Due to the rise of the dollar the price of the Vic Firth headphones doubled all of sudden so I had to find an alternative. The Vic Firth isolate well and sounds OKAY but .. it's not worth 85 ¤. So I bought these, I thought: why not.
I put these on while recording guitar (with a loud amp in the same room) to a rock project. Then I switched over to the Vic Firth and compared and then back again. My verdict:
These actually sounds a little bit more HiFi and I find the Vic Firth exaggerate the lows too much. The exaggerated lows from the Vic Firth creates quite the problem when playing a loud muted metal part due to the lows from the amp already cutting through the headphones as it is.
I won't say that these lack lows either. It isn't completely neutral either .. like I said before, a little more "HiFi"-sounding.
Isolation: The isolation is about the same on those wto. I can't actually decide which one wins in this matter.
Comfort: The Superlux are MUCH more comfortable than the Vic Firths!
Any way, this one wins!
