Rode Rodecaster Duo

Hade använt Rodecaster Pro under ett antal år för radioproduktion. Fungerade i stort sätt bra. Men, försod sedan att Rodecaster Pro II och Rodecaster Duo är ett stort steg framåt. Eftersom jag aldrig använder mer än 2 mikrofoner fanns det ingen anledning att köpa den dyrare Rodecaster Pro II. Alla övriga funktioner är ju lika. Jag använder även denna som interface till min dator och det fungerar mycket bra. Upptäckte att utgångsförstärkarna till hörlurar och högtalare ger ett mycket bra ljud. Till nackdelarna hör att den är lite svajig när man byter förinställningar/Show och får ibland upprepa detta. Dessutom saknar jag Automix. men detta kommer nog som en firmware uppdatering vad det lider.

I'll try to be brief.

Bought because I want the option to have low key podcasts with the option to record two voices and a phone at the same time. I also bought because I record my own voice for short audio doc pieces and sound art.

For voice recording- this simplifies my workflow. Yes I can do everything in a DAW, but when I'm recording my voice I often want something that sounds good on recording- to avoid work later in the DAW. A bonus is that my voice sounds good while recording- which helps the performance.

The preamps sound very quiet, I use it with an SE Dynacaster DCM 8 and 3, and a rode procaster, plus a couple of tbone condenser mics. Don't need an additional preamp for the dynamic mics

Processing is quick and easy. The presets sound good for the dynacaster and procaster, but they are easy to tweak.

It's also very convenient that I can record directly to a card in the device.

Lastly- for my voiceover I don't need to supply an unprocessed version- because my voiceovers are for my own audio doc work, but it's very simple to do a quick second take without processing, if required

J'ai récemment remplacé ma GoXLR par le RØDECaster Duo, et je dois dire que la différence de qualité audio est impressionnante. Je pensais que la GoXLR était de bonne qualité, et bien il faut croire que non... Bien que conçu pour les professionnels, ce matériel s'avère parfait pour un usage quotidien. Je ne suis pas un streamer, mais j'utilise le RØDECaster Duo pour mixer les voix sur Discord, gérer mon micro-casque DT797, et bien plus. La simplicité d'utilisation est remarquable, bien qu'un petit temps d'adaptation soit nécessaire pour maîtriser toutes ses fonctionnalités. Je vous recommande quelques heures de pratique et de vidéos YouTube pour bien la maitriser.

Cette plateforme permet des choses incroyables, j'ai pu par exemple facilement intégrer des potes au téléphone dans mes conversations Discord de façon bi-directionnelle, et tout ça de façon fluide et transparente. La gestion indépendante de trois canaux audio sur Windows permet tout un tas de configurations. Pour ma part j'ai 1 canal pour le son principal, un pour les jeux-vidéo et un pour la communication.

Malheureusement, j'ai me dois d'utiliser MIDI Mixer avec un XTOUCH Mini pour contrôler certaines applications de manière indépendante, je n'ai pas trouvé comment gérer cela directement.

Je recommande fortement le RØDECaster Duo à toute personne cherchant à avoir un contrôle total de son environnement audio sur PC. Cela représente certes un investissement conséquent, surtout pour un usage quotidien non-pro, mais je pense que ça en vaut largement l'usage, en espérant qu'elle me serve pour au moins 10 ans.
