Simply put: if you have a bass drum that doesn’t sound great, try this head. If your bass drum already sounds good, don’t.
My impression was that this head became the entire sound and disconnected it from the shell. Thinner heads vibrate together with the shell, creating a more organic, resonant tone rather than a plasticky one.
