Were I not using this for a static setup, I would have immediately returned these I'm afraid.
Don't get me wrong, the build quality is excellent, however the design is inherently flawed, something I should have checked before buying.
The problem: with fairly little pressure on the sleeve lug (with the crimp), the ring lug shorts to the sleeve as the space between them is merely 1mm. For any application that will see cable movement, this is simply unacceptable long term.
One could guard against this as I did by filling the empty space with a non-conductive hot glue or hardening silicone, or placing some kind of insulating spacer but that should not be a requirement.
Edit: Further reading online leads me to the conclusion that all four connectors I received came without the preinstalled insulating strips intended to prevent this exact issue. This makes the design flaw far more acceptable, however it makes the quality control of REAN far less acceptable.
