I'm going to use this for acoustic blues with standard tuning and fingerpicking. I have a National style O for slide, and a new National is about four or five times more expencive than this one, so I wanted to give it a try.
This is a Chinese made guitar and similar versions are sold under different brand names.
The guitar is very light. It has a laminated mahogany body with a satin finish. The setup could be used for both slide and it has a very playable nice wide neck. The biscuit is rosewood with a maple saddle that's filed for intonation.
The sound is quite pleasing, Suprisingly good I might say. Not as loud as a National but very balanced. As this is a wooden reso it's more mellow than a brass or a steel reso.
This is a lower priced guitar and it shows in the finish that has some dull spots, there's visible filler around the binding, and the tuners are a bit stiff. Nothing that affects the playability.
I've tried some bad cheap resonator guitars, but this one is quite good as it seems to be made in a more correct way. It's not a five star guitar, but quite usable and a cute good little reso.
