The most sturdy coupler I've come across. It works through interlocking the tips inside the plastic ring on the middle, and the tension of the spring because of the slight angle of the plug when the tips are locked in keeps it in place extremely well. There's no risk of accidentally pulling it out as you have to bend the spring sideways pretty hard to loosen the cables. I can't see it getting worn out anytime soon either. Simple yet genious little thing.
