I got this pedal thinking it was an awesome and modern MXR take on the POG. It isn't. It's a decent octave-pedal, a pretty good phaser, a terrible fuzz and a not so impressive version of the EHX Pitch Fork and/or EHX B9.
For the money I expected more. In Poly-mode there's a lot of latency. Tracking's good but the latency makes it kind of hopeless for me. Sounds messy. The sound is also quite digital unless you turn all the octaves upp a bit. The mono-mode sounds great as long as you're not playing chords. Also it doesn't track very well on anything other than e-guitar. I've tried with a EMG banjo, Fishman mandolin and harmonica through a Green Bullet.
The pedal also requires a lot of power and no matter what I did I got this really annoying high pitch noise even in bypass. Sounded electrical. Maybe a faulty PSU, not sure. I sent this back and got a different pedal for half the money and I'm probably not buying anything MXR on the internet again.
Thank you, Thomann, for your great customer service and outstanding return policy.
