Great if you use it right.
(Firstly, I'm no expert)
The changes that this pedal makes to the sound isn't super noticable, and if you want different sounds for your plain bass, this won't cut it. It is an octave pedal, so that's not what it should do anyways.
This is however a great octave pedal, allthough I do not own any other so take it with a grain of salt. But personally I like to pair this with some sort of overdrive, since it can produce pretty good, rough sounds even with my fender amp's own overdrive too. There are only three knobs, two of which are not the original sound. The growl and the girth really completes the sounds when you use it right. The passthrough is great also.
For the price, it may not seem as much since you can get much cheaper pedals that do other stuff, but personally this was money well spent.
Nicely built too, and the blue finish is neat. The lights are perfectly bright, so that won't bug you I think. It's just, a good pedal.

Great tracking and sound
Really wanted an octave pedal and i know MXR for good quality so i bought one. Well, i have to say im pleased.
it has no problem with tracking and i love that you have two octave sounds to choose from. The midboost button is also really handy.

Högt över förväntan
Efter att ha provat Mooer som första oktav-pedal hade jag låga förväntningar på vad en oktav-pedal överlag kunde åstadkomma.
MXR M288 Bass Octave Deluxe var högt över förväntan!
Det enda jag saknar är att boost-switchen skulle gå att slå på/stänga av med foten.
