This costs more than the cheapest stand but it is also more stable, can take more weight and believe it or not; I actually use it as table!
I place a relatively light table top on top of it and push it towards the wall and it works great as a cheaper desktop for your stationary computer with its display standing on it.
I wanted to use it for my digital piano but I couldn't fit my legs the way I wanted below them so I now use it instead of a table (which would cost several times more).
You can also use it for a round table top so you have a table that is stand up height, perfect when you want to present things on camera.
