A wonderful selection from its price range

I bought this cello for my daughter and ask Thomann to deliver from Germany to Taiwan, this of course was risky from damage; however Thomann has done everything possible in protection so we have received this cello in an incredible, perfect condition. I really appreciate!!
To the cello itself, this can be one of the best selections from its price range. The sound is loud but warm; also with nice resonance. The red-brown lacquer feels quality, it is charming and beautiful, it presents just exactly the same as what we see on website. The Larsen chrome steel medium and Thomastik Spirocore tungsten medium no doubt is a big plus to this cello.
This is still a brand new cello, I hope (and I believe) the voice can be even better and mature with more plays.
Overall speaking we love this pick and trust Thomann.

A very reassuring instrument to own

I had never touched a string instrument in my life before buying this Lothar Semmlinger 132A cello, so I cannot possibly compare it with others. It does, I think, seem to me to be very well made. It is reassuring, even for a beginner, to play on an instrument made by a small family owned workshop, in stead of a mass produced one.

I telephoned Lothar Semmlinger in Baiersdorf with some of my questions, and they were very friendly and helpful.

I am very happy that I have chosen this instrument. The sound is very deep and clean. Antiqued colour of the cello gives extra vibes in addition to impeccable sound. And thank you Thomann for uploading sound samples and the video. They really help to find out if this is the instrument that you are after.

Il violoncello è arrivato dopo circa tre settimane dall’ordine, ben protetto in una doppia scatola di cartone. Aprirlo per me è stata una grande emozione, dato che ne capivo bene il valore concreto e morale che ne avrei tratto negli anni. L'ho trovato in perfetto stato, subito l'ho accordato e ho iniziato a suonarci.
Parliamo dello strumento. Il violoncello rispetta molto bene le immagini che si possono vedere sul sito, anche nei dettagli. Il colore è davvero bello, dal marrone scuro arriva a variare fino al rossiccio, anche i disegni che la vernice viene a creare fino ai segni di invecchiamento rendono il tutto molto suggestivo.
Il suono varia da un tono più caldo fino a uno potente ed è comunque molto pulito. In generale davvero un bello strumento, sia per lo studio che per i concerti solistici o in orchestra. Unico lato negativo: ho trovato il ponticello davvero alto, tanto che ho avuto problemi sul capotasto. Non so da cosa dipenda, è l'unico problema che ho riscontrato.
