For starters, I think the idea of a controller is genius. Why pay for the factory to create beautiful sounds when I already have all the sounds that I need in Pianoteq? Why pay for loudspeakers when I already have good speakers? So for me a controller, instead of a digital piano, is an intelligent way of saving a whole lot of money.
I don't have any other controllers to compare with, so before buying VPC1 I read and watched many reviews and comparisons. One thing was very clear. Nothing comes as close to an acoustic piano as VPC1 does. I cannot judge this for myself, but I believe it. I love the feeling of the keys under my fingers!
I struggled a bit with dynamics when it had just arrived, because the keys were more heavy compared to my old digital piano. But then I read the manual and found that there is a preset that was developed together with the Pianoteq people. Wow! The sounds were immediately better using that preset.
I just have one minor criticism. It is the curved top. It is less curved than I feared though, and with some pads, my laptop sits nicely on the top. But I would have greatly preferred a flat top.

Best keyboard i've ever owned.
It's simply amazing how good it is for the price.
If this was a Roland keyboard, it would have cost at least double the money. At least.
The only con is that it sometimes hangs when it powers on. The lamp just keep blinking. But that's pretty easy to solve - Just turn off auto standby in the software, and you won't have to turn it on all the time.
Only USB power needed! No power chords!

KAWAI VPC 1
Before I decided to buy this product I was going through the whole spectra
of Keyboards. Now Im happy I landed with this.
For those of you who can't decide and probably are waiting for the VPC 2.
Forget it. It can't get any better than this.
This is the best controller for any serious piano player.
No nonsense buttons just a very very good keyboard.
Feels and plays like a real piano.
Close your eyes and play and you're right there with a full grand.

Mycket nöjd
Jag har nu haft min VPC1 i 7 månader, och den lever upp till mina förväntningar. Det är en massiv och härlig pjäs som ger en stabil och autentisk känsla vid användning. Klaviaturen är ju anledningen till att jag köpte den.
VPC1 ett utmärkt val för den som prioriterar kvalitet och känsla. Jag kan varmt rekommendera den till andra som söker en välbyggd produkt, särskilt för mer stationär användning.
