Ibanez ES3 Echo Shifter

ES3 ticks all the boxes for me:
1) Great retro look (love the color!)
2) Beautiful sounding true analogue delay with up to 600ms
3) Modulation with both rate and speed controls - not something you can find in every delay pedal
4) Clean and crispy digital delay
5) Tap tempo
6) Hold to oscillate! This is by far my favorite feature, I love how different it acts with analogue and digital modes. Play with delay time fader while holding it, and you can practically summon demons
7) Build like a tank

Zero complaints about this pedal, it's just perfect.

I use it mostly in analog mode and switch to digital for longer delay times. In digital mode it still sounds very good. It is well made, durable and looks good. It is in my pedalboard for 2 years now and still looks and works perfectly.

The only thing I would change is tap tempo setting. It took me a while to adjust because it sets tempo when the switch is released. I prefer setting tempo when the switch is pressed.

Ich mach?s kurz (ohne die totale Delay-Expertin zu sein): Ein erfrischend simples, solide verarbeitetes, toll klingendes und zudem arschcool aussehendes Delaypedal. Es konzentriert sich bewußt auf einige wenige Grundsounds, die man / frau nach Herzenslust mit den großen und einfach gehaltenenen Reglern modden kann. Man hat nach fünf Sekunden einen brauchbaren Sound, kann aber auch weiter fröhlich rumschrauben ohne einen Nervenzusammenzubruch zu kriegen, wo denn jetzt nochmal die ursprüngliche Einstellung war bzw. hinter welchem Knöpfchen sich jetzt welches Preset / Funktion verbirgt etc pp. Allerbestes entspanntes "im Soundsandkasten herumspielen" - Feeling! Einziger kleiner Kritikpunkt - die Drehschalter sind sehr leichtgängig, die können sich also schnell mal verstellen wenn man aus Versehen dran kommt. Dazu ist das Pedal relativ groß, es ist also nix für Leute, die nur wenig Platz auf dem Board haben bzw. ihr Set-Up bewußt klein halten wollen. Mir gefällt?s.
Kleiner Nachtrag - die LEDs sind ziemlich hell, zumindest im Wohnzimmergebrauch (ein Problem von unzähligen Pedalen, zB denen von Fender, wo man fast blind wird), ich habe sie deshalb etwas abgeklebt...
