It's as easy as that. If you're wondering how it compares to similarly priced studio monitors, it sounds far better for its intended purpose. As a Bluetooth speaker, it works great, offering enough volume to annoy your partner, the neighbors, and even yourself. For a home practice environment, there is literally nothing else at this price point that comes close. I've read complaints about noise, but that must be due to home grounding issues; here, it produces zero noise. The best part is that if you model a tone on this FRFR cabinet, the adjustments you need to make when upgrading to a larger setup are minimal. I couldn't recommend it enough. It also looks the part. Could it have more features? Why? Do you want to play guitar or play lego?

Gleich vorneweg, ich habe diese Box eher als Bluetooth-Lautsprecher wie als Gitarrenbox gekauft. "FRFR" ist ein lustiges Marketing-Etikett, das Tontechniker nicht so recht verstehen, da sie in der Regel sowieso immer mit Lautsprechern arbeiten, die Full Range und Flat Response für sich beanspruchen.

Und ja, das macht diese kleine Box nicht mal schlecht. Mit meiner Testmusik klingt sie durchaus ausgewogen. Natürlich kein Subbass-Wunder, aber das ist okay bei so einem winzigen Teil. Die Lautstärke ist eingeschränkt, also vom Gefühl her ist sie einer wummsenden Blauzahn-Lärmwurst eher unterlegen, klingt dafür aber nicht so effekthaschend nervend wie eine solche.

Leider aber spürt man, dass die Box mittels DSP hart an sich arbeitet... die Tiefen klingen ebenso irgendwie verwaschen wie die Höhen. Ja, es ist doch eher flat und full response, aber es ist eben trotzdem nicht wirklich schön.

Die Klangregelung nimmt zumindest auf via Blauzahn abgespielte Musik nicht so viel Einfluss, wie ich erwartet hätte.

Die Verarbeitung wirkt wertig. Auch der Mini-Klinke-Eingang ist ein Feature, das viele Bluetooth-Brüller nicht mitbringen.

Eine Mini-Monitorbox fürs Studio würde ich auch zu diesem schmalen Preis von kanpp 160 Euro zurückgehen lassen. Bei der Headrush ist es nun so, dass man ja noch die Akku-Funktion bekommt – und auch ein stressfreies Aufladen direkt an der Steckdose, ohne wurstelige USB-C-Netzteile, mit einem Standard-Kabel.

Ob mir die Klangqualität ausreicht, um mich im Consumer-Alltag nicht zu nerven, muss ich noch entscheiden.

Für Gitarre könnte das Gerät schon besser funktionieren, denn tatsächlich sind viele Gitarrensounds sowieso nicht soo präzise. Aber: Mehr als fürs Wohnzimmer oder im Urlaub im Wohnwagen/Wohnmobil jammen dürfte hier auch schwierig werden. Straßenmusik geht vermutlich mit so wenig Dampf eher nicht.

I use it for guitar practice (+ tonex) and listening to music, I am quite happy with it considering the price. The audio quality is better than practice amps (Spark 2, Yamaha THR), this plus a ToneX One is even cheaper than Spark 2.

Cons:
1. The slight hissing sound: it exists when the device is on but not being used, but it’s not as annoying to me, I turn it off when not in use.
2. Startup time, it takes a few seconds to start, which I don’t mind
3. Mediocre build quality, the handle specially feels cheap.

But it sounds good, has bluetooth connectivity (for backing tracks, metronome, etc), battery powered, portable, and quite cheap for what it is. I literally couldn’t find any product that even competes with it feature wise.
