Hawkins Mutes Straight Mute Bass Trombone is arguably the best mute I have ever used. Most mutes fall out all the time and make loud noises when they hit the floor in the middle of a performance. And drastically affect the intonation of the trombone. And they feel stuffy and uncomfortable to play.

Hawkins Mutes Straight Mute Bass Trombone is completely different. Right away when I take it out of the box I can feel this is a superior product. It was clearly engineered by professional music scientists. I find that it stays wedged inside my trombone bell adequately. And I can play throughout my normal range with basically acceptable intonation.

In summary I would recommend Hawkins Mutes Straight Mute Bass Trombone to anyone, even children and the elderly should be able to handle this mute adequately.
