Great product

It's worth learning a bit about the Jecklin Disk and how and where to use it, but in the right application it works very well. One word of warning - the mic stand mount is designed to be moved around the disk but is VERY tight and difficult or impossible to remove without a locking wrench, which might scrape some paint off the mount. That doesn't matter very much unless you are planning to return the disk!

Superb quality
santamorphic 07.05.2015
Works brilliantly with a pair of matched omnis. Really solid build quality and creates a fantastic stereo image. I live using it creatively with quite close miking as well as the conventional approach.

The supplied mic clips are strangely small for many microphones making me unconfident in putting expensive microphones in them. But who doesn't have mic clips locking around that can be screwed on.

The little cord with a bead on each end provides a neat way of ensuring precise symmetrical positioning of the the pair of microphones on each side of the disk.

Highly recommended. Robust and does what is expected of a Jecklin disk.

Foam is too thin to absorb much sound
PP US 10.10.2025
Overall quality is good, if a bit on the heavy side. However the thin foam used on this is not really very absorptive at all, which is audible as some comb filtering at certain frequencies as sound bounces off of the disk and back to the microphone. After some testing I replaced the foam with some heavy felt board and this works much, much better for reducing reflections off of the disk. It was frustrating to have to make a DIY fix on something that is supposed to be an off the shelf solution, but the results with the stock foam were just too poor to live with.
