OK, you have already heard, that new TE-20 models are good. So let me focus on nit-picking after I will mention the main reason why you should buy this guitar — the neck. Just neck of the same quality, equally nice fret job, identical smoothness and playability from any other brand will cost at least twice as this guitar assembled. New TE-20 neck is AWESOME, period.
And here comes nit-picking: frets seems to be narrow and small, which adds to comfort, but feels too strange if you used to jumbo frets.
The guitar also has thinner body compared to regular telecaster, and that leads to several production decisions: neck is installed higher on body then regularly, since deeper pocket will compromise construction strength, and pickups, saddles are higher then you would expect too. It opens nice benefit — if you will install Bigsby, right strings break up angle will be there right away without shimming the neck.
Pickups give a sound, and I don't see any reasons to swap them, middle position is hum cancelling, which is nice bonus.
Pickup selector is ridiculously stiff, but knobs are smooth and give no cracking sound when you turn them.
Body finish is almost perfect, I was able to find some small dust pieces under the coat, but hey! I was explicitly searching for a flaw!
Not sure how it's possible, but for me it looks like tuning pegs are too close to each other, they get on your way every now an then. But tuners itself are good.
Strings might need changing, so keep that in mind too.
Recommendation: by one if you want to have faithful T-guitar in your collection for little money. I have bought it to our office. Now anyone can jam during lunch. And this guitar is just perfect for that goal.
