Punches WAY above its class and is far more capable than the price tag suggests
I bought this bass as a test, because I had read a lot of positives about them.
Well. It does not disappoint. It's usually said that the SIRE Marcus Miller basses are great value for money on the cheaper end of the scale when it comes to active basses. Well, this one is totally on the same level - but with passive electronics.
The body looks good, fit and finish is good, fretwork is good, neck shape is good. I have only one minor gripe with it - they could have put a split coil "J" pickup in it. The way it's configured now, it becomes somewhat sensitive to magnetic fields with both pickups on max or with the bridge pickup. The neck pickup is very silent though.
Oh, and nice double action truss rod, with a really neat adjustment tool included. I can't recommend this thing enough!
