Harley Benton HQS Bass 45-100 Flatwound

The best Strings ive ever used on my Fretless Bass, i am so satisfied with both quality and sound,..Thanks to Thomann and Harley benton för produceing this range of Strings. =)

I started to play bass in the eigthies and everybody used round wound strings back then and so did I. Rounds have good sustain and sharp attack wich I got used to. Now I have been looking for flats and bought many sets trhough the years but not liked any of them. So I gave up and just played rounds and didnt look for flats. Then I saw HB Flatwound on Thoman and thought I try them for the fun of it and it turned out to be success!
I have 6 electric basses and I will buy 2 more sets so I have 3 with rounds and 3 with flats!

I have had no problem with these.

Initially, I had a problem where the E string broke before I even got it up to tune. I see a few others have commented on the same issue.
I think it's because the wound part of the string gets bent at the tuning peg. My solution was to put a bunch of spacers on the string at the very bottom (where the string enters the bridge), so that the whole string gets moved further back so to speak. So now, only the thin top part of the string wraps around the tuning peg. Seem to work fine.

Har nu provat dom fick höja sträng höjden lite för att ta bort knorr ljudet men kör annars väldigt lågt med min Sandberg bas . Dom låter helt ok än så länge får återkomma om ett par spelningar 0.45 strängen känns lite tunnare än rotosound jag använder annars. Men med det priset får man nog vara nöjd.

Hade inga förhoppningar med tanke på priset. Men ack så jag lurade mig själv. Jättebra för mina annars så anonymiserade pick ups
