Love the feel of this one for me with rather long deep jaw bones.
It feels very soft near the outer "ridge" but still provides enough of a "hook" to keep the violin in place.
It is boxwood like many other chinrests here, but in real life it is in fact a bit darker than the "usual" boxwood chinrests.
Which is beautiful. It is just slightly darker in a slight chocolate tone.
Edit: upon closer inspection the copy sent to me stank rancid of either sweat or mold. Will have to order another one and hope i get sent an actual new copy. Mileage may vary..
Edit2: Thomann hid my edit about them shipping a used one drenched in yellow sweat soaked toilet paper, so im trying again, im still wanting to try this one again, if they ever have an actual new one in stock.
