Essentially just a thicker gauge Slinky. Excellent for tuning down a full step (D-G-C-F-A-D). Being used to playing thicker strings, I have not found any difficulties bending strings or playing any style in this tuning. If anything, I prefer that these do not feel as spongy as small-gauge strings. In any case, there are bellowing lows that come out with this gauge that 11-48 gauge will never give you with the same tuning. The highs have excellent chiming overtones while the mids gain sustain. There is one reservation though: at this gauge the unwound G-string has always felt too pudgy, but I am able to ignore this since it does not seem to affect my actual technique or speed. Tuning is stable, longevity is very good in my experience, though they will naturally lose some shine (but not all) after a few weeks if you're not gigging or sweating a lot while playing.
