Perfect for HardRock & Heavy Metal

I`ve bought this set to replace a HetSet in my Les Paul in order to get a more open and dynamic tone, and the 57/66 delivered exactly that, but with still a good output and punch (not a vintage/low output pup at all) !

Not that the HetSet is bad, but it was not matching exactly the music I am playing nowadays (those small details/differences that only guitar players can hear).

That`s the beauty of the EMGs, easy swapping gives you the opportunity to test different options.

Purchased this set of pickups for as a replacement for my guitar
due to a bad sound from my existing set,
The solderless system is absolutely brilliant, fast install with the easy to read wiring diagrams, and also the Utube backup videos,
EMG have excellent installation videos, with everything you need to know for your install,
These pickups are Amazing, Excellent quality with rhythm/lead sounds,
Clean sounds are superb, i found the response of the volume pots with either pickup has clarity and punch when required,
My lead sounds are clean and crisp,
Great sustain and have real personality for each note, I'm using many VST amps and every patch has now got a shine,
I absolutely Love these pickups, well worth the investment,

Great Pickups

I put these in my Epiphone LP Custom Pro and I absolutely love them! I mostly play Iron Maiden and Metallica.

Pros:
* They sound amazing
* Excellent Dynamics
* Nice clean sound
* Loud
* Installation is child's play
* Comes with detailed walktrhough, and there are many official videos from EMG on youtube.

I can't think of any cons.

Killer looks and sound

Despite EMG touting these pickups as being PAF-like, I didn’t really get that. That being said, if you want a high output pickup set with a clean look, you could do a whole lot worse. Mean distorted tone and they clean up nicely.

Good BUT

This set can play whatever you want with ease, but jack of all trades master to none.
I put them on my vitnage Les Paul Custom while they are really good with such a good clarity they don't sound Gibson at all.
It is like my Les Paul is a generic humbucker guitar.
I think I will return them and buy gibson pickups.
