I've been a die hard fan of the pink Dunlop Delrin 0.71 mm picks, and always hovered back to 'em after many years of guitar and bass playing. During a recent rehearsal session, a friend said he has a similar relationship to these grey grippy Nylon ones, so I tried one and then ordered a bunch along with my usual suspects.
I've never vibed with thicker/chunkier picks during my 30+ years of playing, but these 1.14 mm ones are very flexible, and although more rigid than my pink Delrin's, the feel is that of great control when doing fast palm mutes and tremolos. I've gone back to playing a lot of fast punk/hardcore, death metal and grindcore in my older days - these feel fantastic for the task, and arpeggios and chord picking also work really well, without the loss of "feel" and bounciness I usually attribute with picks above 1 mm. These also feel surprisingly durable. Oh, and the grippyness actually works - I've yet to drop one while playing and recording. Unlike the Delrin's, which usually litter my carpet after a session. :)
I still obviously love my pink 0.71 mm's, but I suspect these will be used at least as much. After many years, it feels like I finally have two favourites.
