P-bass tone on steorids!
I got these for my modified Thunderbird project bass, seeking a raw, aggressive, growling p-bass tone.
I got that in spades - the DP146 changed the tone of the Thunderbird radically, it really sounds like a P-bass on steorids now.
Construction seems great, it has no exposed polepieces and the housing is filled with epoxy. This pickup differs from a standard P-bass pickup in that it has double amount of polepieces, evenly spaced inside. This widens the magnetic field, creates a balanced tone and makes it perfect for basses with non-standard, narrow string spacings.
Overall I'm extremely happy with my purchase!

High output
Put these in a '77 P-bass. Works great. Really high output with steel strings. A solid low end and a nice crispy high end that cuts through the mix.
