Daddario H310-4/4H Helicore Violin 4/4

Damn, these babies are loud. Can't wait to deafen our Banjo-player.

It's not dissimilar to turning up the gain on an electronic instrument. Minute bow-movements feels unflatteringly emphasized relative to normal tension strings. But while you loose a bit of smoothness in the finer dynamics, it makes up for it by shattering volume. Rings clear as a bell and can take a very aggressive attack without the chord or note dissolving into "frazzle". With practice I'm sure one could tame these strings to perform within a wider dynamic range suitable to classical solo pieces, but for my purpose of sounding clear and loud together with a band I'm already dialled in.

I have good faith in Helicore strings from before, and these delivered on the "Heavy" promise.
