A good start to a modular or a great complement to an existing one
This along with its sibling West Pest are very powerful desktop synths that go well in any modular setup. They have many modules/functions in one compact unit. The East Beast is a subtractive synth with a good sounding VCO, a very nice filter along with the usual VCA/LFO/Envelop setup. The only downside to this is the envelope which are quite bad. The are either very short and click or longer and sloppy. It is impossible to get a good snappy envelope out of it and I usually use the envelope from it's built in Multi Function or even an external envelope. Apart from that it does a lot for very cheap compared to how well made it is. The best feature of it, in my opinion, is it's filter which is very nice.

Fat sounding beast.
This synth/module has a very fat and nice analog sound. It is now the main module in my modular and I use it all the time. If you are starting with modulars this module is a perfect start as you get a full synth voice, arpeggiator, sequencer, fat filters etc etc. If you are and experienced modular nerd you will love this module to.
