Väldigt bra overdrive, kan få till ett ganska rått ljud med den och den tappar inte en massa bas. Använder den tillsammans med min big muff och de funkar skitbra ihop.

Great, warm Blues tone

Boss says, the OD-3 had a "bigger, smoother tone than any Overdrive pedal ever had". I say: It's true!

The tone is very warm and fat, much smoother than for example the Boss BluesDriver. The drive range starts with a nearly clean, slightly fattened tone and ends with a solid rock sound. The tone poti allows to adjust the highs and the "punch" of the Overdrive. It's a good way to control the basic sound of the drive, the overall control still can be done with the amp.

The OD-3 fits perfectly in any amp character: It supports its tone and doesn't change it too much. It always adds smoothness and bass to it, but if you have a Marshall, it will still sound like Marshall. The best thing is the OD-3's dynamic: You can turn the drive poti completely up, but you'll still be able to control the drive from clean to completely overdriven just by using your guitar's volume poti.

By turning down the drive knob and cranking up the volume you can use the OD-3 as booster and sustainer too add a creamy component to your amps overdrive. I use it with volume at 10, drive at 2.5 and tone at 4: With a clean amp sound I get a nice blues tone, with my amp distorted the Boss is a booster for my solo sound.

Quality and handling is classic Boss-like. Perfectly crafted and a real work horse on stage: You could drop this thing down from the 10th floor and it would survive :-)

Every guitar player who gets the pedal bug will go through the purchase and upgrade of their gear as sure as the sun will rise tomorrow. At some point in that process you will probably use Boss effects and you could do a lot, lot worse than try this drive pedal. The key to this pedal is the level knob, the tone knob will brighten or darken your sound, the drive knob goes from hint to soaked and the level knob either reigns the volume in or puts you totally over the top. It's robust, easy to use and gives you a good driven tone which is just what you want.

Incredible for bass

I've been through quite a few overdrive pedals for bass, both specific Bass effects and guitar effects. The OD-3 is the best I've found yet. It gets a fantastic grainy texture when on full gain, but without ever getting fizzy, farty or thin. As you might expect for a guitar pedal on bass, I wouldn't say it has no low-end loss at all, but if you just dial the tone down slightly and raise the output volume, you'd barely notice. Whether you want a nice textural breakup at low-gain settings, a nice grindy rock tone at mid-gain, or gritty chunky high-gain aggression, the OD-3 can seemingly do it all. Tested with a P bass, Stingray, Warwick Thumb... it just seems unbeatable for my needs. Build quality and QC is of course top notch as you'd expect from Boss (when have you ever heard of a Boss pedal breaking down?) and it's completely insignificant but I love the deep cheddar yellow colour and gold knobs. Absolutely in love with this one! Top recommendation to all the bass players out there.
