Sure, it's analog, but the sound is just not really there.
I love the added functions and CV connectivity, but the sound is always a little to sharp and fizzy for me. I have a similar feeling for the minilouge, which also had this cheap analog tone to it. Not sure how it compares to an original 303, but paired with the cyclone, it pales in comparison. The cyclone has this warm, round edge to it and is in general much more pleasant to listen to, perform with and sequence.
That said, it's a 303, it works as intended and I have never had any issues with it for the past two years.
In short. It you wqnt something snarly, aggressive and Sharp, this is your guy. If you want something more smooth, get the cyclone
