A malincuore dovrò fare il reso perché la mia viola non ci sta in larghezza e altezza (sono riuscito a infilarla sforzando parecchio, da evitare soprattutto in un uso quotidiano). Il motivo principale tuttavia che mi fa effettuare il reso è che il coperchio della custodia aderisce sul ponticello della mia viola, rendendo questa custodia una trappola mortale per lo strumento.
