I really wanted to like MicroFreak and in some areas, it is really good. It's a hybrid synth and to get to shine you really need to use/learn the mod matrix. Still, the mono output and lack of internal effects make it a bit dull and flat, so it really needs to be paired with some external effects. My main gripe with the MicroFreak is its touch keyboard, its nearly impossible to consistent velocity as the keyboard reacts different in the moisture of your fingers, if you have dry hands it will take quite some force to register a key. Another thing that was painful was the syncing and transferring of presets using the Midi Control center, inconsistent and terribly slow. Often had to reboot the unit to be able to connect to the midi control center.
