Alesis Samplepad 4

It's playable but you need to hit it pretty hard, I don't think rod would trigger it at all but it work with sticks more or less so it's alright for heavy handed drumming. Wouldn't recommend for jazz. But I guess cheap pads are fair game given it's price.

The choice of built in kit is a mystery to me but you can always plug in with usb or load your own sounds to a memory card and stick in in there.

What bums me out is that I've had problems with pads going dead as well as usb-connection malfunction after less than a year of usage. Again, it's cheap, and thomann's customer service has been good so it's not a bad purchase per se if you're looking for a cheap pad. It's just not a great product.
