It's alright for the price but the spring is very soft and i suppose it would be very hard to create a good rebound with this type of construction so unsurprisingly it doesn't feel like playing a real kick. It's playable and i personally don't mind it for practice since i'm not a very advanced drummer but for more serious application i'd probably get a real kick pedal and a trigger.

Trigger happy
The trigger in the pedal sometimes hangs, resulting in very fast bass drum action very rarely desired. Most of the time it's working fine though but I can't help finding this a bitt annoying, especially when recording drum tracks.

Perfect for piano heel-stomp (No more tired legs!)
I use this pedal in combination with the Roland TM-2, and the setup is perfect. I use it to stomp with my left heel while playing the piano. I was worried about overexerting my calf, but after a few weeks, I don't even think about the pedal. The pedal springs back up nicely against your foot, which is perfect. If you use a wooden stompbox, you get tired very quickly. The only issue at first was that the spring vibrated after it was released. I may have sensitive feet, but it bothered me a little. Luckily, it was easily solved by putting a piece of gaffer tape on it to dampen the resonance. I understand that the pedal may feel a bit too soft for drummers. But for me as a pianist, it is perfect. I also highly recommend the Roland TM-2, it delivers every kick sound you could ever need, and you can easily adjust both the sensitivity and threshold to match the pedal.
