A versatile dampener device.
I think the Snareweight dampener is a simple yet clever device that makes it so much easier to alter your sound compared to moongel type of damper pads. With the wider M80 model, I can go from a tight muffled sound to no dampening at all and almost everything in between by using the little magnets on the device. What sounds good is of course subjective, some may find the smallest amount of dampening on the M80 model too much, and then the smaller M1 model is perhaps a better choice. Lastly, I think the Snareweight dampener gives you a better initial attack compared to moongel type of damper pads. This is because the Snareweight dampener bounces of the head slightly when hitting the drum but then quickly comes down again and muffles the overtones, which is what you want. The quality seems great and I guess it will last for a long time.

Moongel forever ;)
I think they’re a bit overrated. A Moongel gives more consistent damping and is easier to move around the head. I found that a single Moongel dampened at least as well as these, and my snare actually sounded better.
I also had trouble fitting them onto my DW True Hoops, and they left a couple of scratches in the chrome. Not the end of the world, but completely unnecessary.
