Build and Feel
The build quality is excellent, featuring smooth fretwork and solid construction with no loose components. While a personal setup was required to match my specific preferences, the bass arrived structurally sound and feels professional in the hand.
Sound and Electronics
Equipped with a flexible 2-band preamp, the bass delivers a full-bodied sound with a distinct, characteristic twang. The active EQ provides ample control over the frequency spectrum, making it easy to dial in specific tones. Note that the output is significantly lower in passive mode, and as is standard with single-coil pickups, some hiss is present when the pickups are not balanced.
Hardware and Features
The hardware is sturdy and reliable, providing great tuning stability. While the Sandberg bridge design can be a bit fiddly for intonation adjustments, the overall component quality is high.
Final Verdict
The Electra TT4 is a well-engineered Jazz-style bass that punches well above its price class, offering premium feel and versatile tone shaping.
