Rides In The Storm SED

There is a lot of growling bass available in this low-pass filter. And it can get brilliantly resonant to the point of some screaming self-oscillation.
I really like filters that can mix multiple inputs like the 100M series. There are many scenarios where you will want to run multiple inputs into a good sounding filter.
There are a lot of features on this filter. While the Overdriver switch is not to my taste, I could see it being useful for some people. The built-in VCA is very convenient and saves me some space in a compact module.
V/Oct input for Cutoff makes this a very musical filter when resonance is high.
It is well built like all Rides in the Storm modules, with a metal plate. The plastic knobs are pretty basic but functional. They wiggle a little bit but not terribly so. I appreciate actual knobs instead of the micro-pots used on many compact modules. The OD button has a satisfying spring to it, even if I don't use it very much.
This filter would pair well with almost any oscillator. But I suspect most people use it with RitS's DOC or DMO.

This filter sounds awesome! I also love that it has a mixer and an overdrive that sounds great too! i love the overall sound of the module. HOWEVER, the packaging was terrible. It was wrapped in an A4 paper which also is the manual and although it came in good condition, i could not find the screws anywhere because the must have fallen somewhere. The paper was a bit torn. I would recommend this filter especially for the price and sound but they need to rethink about the packaging.

Le son est très beau, j'aime particulièrement utiliser l'overdrive avec la résonance, ça souligne d'une très belle manière ce qui se trouve dans cette zone de fréquence quand le cutoff se déplace.
De plus trois entrées avec atténuateur, VCA intégré, trois entrées de modulation de la fréquence de coupure, une entrée de modulation de la résonance.... C'est Pas des choses qu'on trouve si souvent, et encore moins dans un filtre qui sonne bien et est très très bon marché.
J'aime aussi que la sortie VCF reste utilisable même si on utilise sa normalisation vers l'entrée du VCA, ça permet de doubler le signal pour modulation audio ou autre routing, en parallèle.
