Great as a reso head
I use the Remo Encore Ambassador heads as reso heads.
They seem to be a bit thinner than a regular Ambassador, which (according to me) makes the drum "sing" a bit more. Great for both studio and live.
I actually don't see any reason to use a regular ambassador as a reso head when you can use the Encore heads. They're much cheaper and they hold up the same.
