A lot of bang for the buck

I wanted to try something different than the usual brands, and thought to give the Pyramid a try. I thought I might as well go for their extra-light set, as I bend a lot. I expected ease of bending but so-so sound.

Well, I was happily surprised!

Obviously, the strings are a piece of cake to bend. They also seem to be strong enough to take the abuse (I haven't actually tried to break one, but with reasonable playing they seem sturdy). But what I didn't expect was the excellent sound quality – you really can't get much better than such a thin set, at this price tag. Great tonality, lots of sustain (again, considering the set and price tag), it's a no-brainer for the casual player.

One minor issue I faced after installation was that the A string resonated on the 5th-6th fret. That is, pressing on the 5th fret, there was an annoying resonance as the string actually touched on the 6th. It was trivial to take care of by lifting the bridge a bit.

All in all, you can't go wrong. Great value strings.

They do the job

Some strings in some random packs have intonation problems as soon as you put them on. Little bit flat on one or two wound strings sometimes. There are cheaper strings that haven't got this issue. But for the price and basically same feel, they're alright.

Light and long-lasting strings

These are very light strings which I got specifically for ease of bending. When doing lead work they are great.

For fast palm-muted rhythm work I find them a little too loose, but you should not be buying these strings if that is your intended goal.

Pyramid 8's

Great strings , no breakages on the "thin" 8's . I am converted to these nickels ( on the wound strings only) they feel a lot smoother than other brands to me . I also notice that the twists at the ball ends appear very well done compared to other makes .

Fantastic strings.

Pyramid Pure Nickel strings are not just great strings for the price, they are fantastic strings, period. The wound strings are as good or better than any other brand I've used, the plain strings are the best sounding of any brand I've tried. The 008 set is balanced, and tuning stability is great. Highly recommended.

good thin strings

These strings offer nice sound and are very easy to bend due to thin diameter. Also very competitive price.

Great extra light strings

A great lower price but quality alternative to other names. Sound is good, wear and durability seem good so far. Strings feel good when playing and bending. Highly recommended for the price.

Cheap and fine strings

They sound good, even though they may become dull a little quicker than more expensive strings, but they do a fine job for the price.
