Nice complement in my project studio

Bought this mainly to use it on vocal but found it also to be very nice on direct input bass.

The tube knob will get you from totally clean to quite distorted yet sounding soft and harmonic, and has quickly become a favourite.
Giving the vocal a little bit of compression pre-recording can also give you an easier startingpoint when you start working on the track in the DAW.
The possibility to route the eq before the compressor increases the functionality further, and is really useful when recording for ex. a bass.

The knobs could have had clearer markings.
The thing I miss the most is a power button on the front panel, instead of one switch on the back and yet another on the cable.

I definitely recommend this unit to others.

Top Class Pre-Amp without busting the bank.

Another Excellent Product from Presonus.
This Pre-amp is a must for every semi-pro recording facility.
I have used it now to record from Guitar Amps, Vocal and various acoustic instruments.
It is very flexible with all the controls you get on board.
Because it is a Tube Pre-amp it gives that rather warm crunchy sound, and you can really drive that thing well. You can really experiment with your sound without to have it manipulated on your daw. You can switch the polarity, have a low pass filter, -20db on the input if you wish. You can switch the compression before EQ and otherwise. And of course you get a lot of option on your EQ and Compressor too. You can't go wrong with this Pre-amp.
The built quality is also astounding! The Controls are sturdy, and not made from plastic as similar pre amps in the same price range, it all feels just right. I will be buying another one soon.

Amazing but…

Mine had a faulty buzzing sound so I had to return it. Maybe I was unlucky but it didn’t give me enough trust in it’s built to keep it and use it for years and years to come.
But that could totally be my unit and maybe it’s actually very durable, I’ll never know.
It worked wonders though. The moment I installed it in my 19” rack I sang through it for hours because it just sounds AMAZING.

Nice addition to my studio for both Vocal and instruments.

The Presonus Studio Channel has been a wonderful addition to my studio. I have used it for both vocal, bass and guitar tracks. There has been no sound or noise issues and offers great compression and EQ adjustments pre interface or source. The warm tub preamp is a good feature. If there was any thing I wish it has was a second channel for recording both vocals and guitar at the same time but that is easily solved by adding a second one but still only a wish. The Comp bypass and EQ bypass is a must have feature. Great Product.
