Odisei Music Travel Sax 2 Black

I bought this as I have been diagnosed with a perforated ear drum and can't practice with my normal saxophone for a few weeks and it has been fantastic. Not only can I still practice as if though I am playing my usual sax (except for the embouchre) but I am annoying my neighbours less!

I will definitely be using it even after I have healed to just practice the repetitive things (scales, arpeggios etc) to minimise annoying my neighbours!

The keys feel exactly like a saxophone (maybe a tad stiffer than you might expect, but that can be adjusted supposedly).

The service by thomann was great and the item arrived in the UK really quickly too.

I have used it profusely for several months now, the perfect option to silently practice scales, fingerings and arrangements. I use it also to register inspiration when happens, try new things and compositions. On top of it, its preset sounds are helping me in my performances, adding a catalog of possibilities when for instance I want to add an harmonica or sound effect part to my performances. Very useful tool, durable and reliable.

On the negative side, you can control some volume blowing harder or softer, but thats it, no mouth, embochure or expression training at all. Also, the lack of visual lights when charging if the sax is turned off has caused some confusion to me about charging times or just forgetting if I charged it or not.

To sum up, excellent tool overall.

Ausgepackt, App installiert, losgelegt - wie cool mit der Auswahl zwischen ca. 70 Sounds. So macht üben Spaß. Dafür wurde das Travel Sax entwickelt, Licks oder Scalen in die Finger bekommen, Soli der Großen transkribieren, jederzeit und quasi überall, da das TS2 problemlos mit auf Reisen gehen kann.
Für mich erfüllt es alle Anforderungen, besonders cool auch, dass es als Midi-Instrument genutzt werde kann, das eröffnet im Vergleich zum Midi-Keyboard ganz neue Möglichkeiten, vor allem, was Dynamik anbetrifft. Natürlich ersetzt es nicht das Üben auf dem echten Sax, vor allem was den Ansatz und Sound und alles was über das Mundstück gesteuert wird anbetrifft. Ich benutze daher auch kaum das Sax Mundstück, sondern das "Flöten"Mundstück und der Bequemlichkeit halber die Verlängerung des Halses (Extrazubehör, ab und zu als Aktion mit dabei).
Aber das war mir beim Kauf klar, inzwischen gibt es ja auch zahlreiche YouTube Videos zum TS2.
Zur Verarbeitung: es kommt aus einem 3D-Drucker, ist also Kunststoff. Die Klappen haben im Gegensatz zum TS1 aber Metallverbindungen bekommen, was ich sehr begrüße, da das die Bruchgefahr deutlich reduziert.
Also, wer ein super kompaktes Übe- und "Ich probier mal was auf" Sax sucht, mit dem er zu jeder Zeit und an fast jedem Ort üben, experimentieren, improvisieren kann und sein Musicproductionequipment erweitert, ist mit dem TS2 meiner Meinung nach sehr gut bedient. Have fun
