The Neutrik NF2C plugs come with 2 chucks for different cable diameters. According to the Neutrik website the black chuck included with it is suitable for cable diameters of up to 7.3mm, but in my experience neither the black nor this wider white chuck allows you to screw the boot fully on without trimming the end on a 7.2mm cable - there remains a 3mm gap between the 2 parts of the connector. All 3 existing chucks are the same length and they poke out about 2 millimeters at the end of the boot when not on a cable - which I have never seen on other connector types. In my opinion about 3 millimeters can be safely trimmed off the end of the chuck closer to the boot (on jack connectors there is a bit on the end of the chuck closer to the pins to trim off but here that part is sized to match so you can only trim the boot end). It will still have a proper grip on the cable but also allow the boot to be fully tightened. The instructions do not mention trimming at all though. There are fewer grooves on this white chuck for grabbing your cable than on the black and blue ones and you don't lose any of them by trimming a bit off the end. Without trimming I think this white chuck is probably suitable for cables about 6mm wide.
